This guts me every time I listen to it.

p.s. it's Godspeed You! Black Emperor, one of my favorite bands. The song is called Moya.

They're righteous. Listen to "No Homecoming" if you get the chance, I think you'll like it <3

It is sort of haunting in a fucked up way.

That's really beautiful, but creepy at the same time.

I like this... it's dark and pretty...

Michelle's comment reminded me of something. I did a quiz bowl thing for my school, and one of the questions was about Chuck Norris. It made me think of you.

By the way, I forgot to mention, the song it really grand. It makes me want to go on an epic journey...for some reason.

I've heard of Godspeed but I've never listened to them before.
This song kind of makes me sad and for some reason the beginning makes me think of the Lord Of The Rings. The part thats about, two minutes from the end is pretty awesome though.

You're the coolest Jade!

I like it, it's very melancholic :)

Supreme General of Evil said...

aaah that made me tremble. The first three or so minutes mixed images of the movies Interview With the Vampire and Hero in my head, for some reason. It made me see lots of colors, because Hero is one of the most colorful movies like... ever.

The rest of the song was like dancing on a deserted bridge at night in Autumn, the mood being complacent at first before morphing into something melancholy and inexplicably desperate. Strings make ache.

Thanks for the fantastic imagery!!!!!

and completely unrelated... I've realized that Trowa from Gundam Wing reminds me of you (I don't know if you've ever even heard of Gundam Wing...)

Oooh that is rather lovely. I may actually have a space where this would work well in the play i'm doing at school. I've been looking for a good atmospheric peice for a while. I shall try this one out. Ta :P

Five days of big parties, drunk people and strange music on the street. o/

I like this a lot. I've never heard anything quite like it before. It's dark and almost horrific, but I can't stop listening to it.

Are we not allowed to know what it is?

Ohhh... sounds like the soundtrack to one of those 'uh-oh, you're stuck in a haunted house!' online games. Or quite possibly what would be playing if you were actually stuck in a haunted house. How do people go about composing stuff like that?

Anywho, thank you muchly, my friends been bugging me to listen to them for ages now and due to my lack of filesharingness alas I have been unable to. But now yay.

Figured out what the song/artist is. Buying CD as soon as possible. -twitch-

That is indeed very beautiful.

It sort of reminds me of this children's casette we had, 'The Kookaburra Who Stole the Moon'. In the second half. Not that that means anything...and also of the Lord of the Rings, because that's the only classical style music I really listen to. I love the blend of classical and more modern music though, or whatever it is (I'm not very good at describing what music's doing).

tragictrust said...

this is great . . . it really made my day.

I love it so much I felt moved to create.

If you are into this music, may I suggest a movie that is just as creative.

Mirrormask by Dave McKean. You won't be disappointed.

Ouch. Guts?
Teehee. I suppose you meant "gets"... unless you actually meant "guts"...in which case it is probably the most physically effective song known to human kind.
I am listenning to it and so far am not suffering any disembowelment. It's very pretty, fo sho. It's, you know, emotionally moving. There's a lot to pay attention to (without having to pay attention to a voice)and it really moves you just AS music, you know? Of course you do. You're Jade. Anyway, it makes me wonder how music can be so effective. It's such an incredible thing when done right. I mean, in a melody, there is no coherent message (unless you argue the whole major/minor pregression thing, but that's beside my point), so how can it elicit such feelings?
Sorry. I am rambling. Plus the computer screen is giving me a headache. Thanks for the song. It's killa.

When afraid, go into a closet,
Cone Hat.

p.s. what's the song called?

Thank you for all the time you spend on us, even though you don't have to. I think I speak for all of us when I say it means so much. It's not everyday your favorite rockstars read what you've written to them. Thanks again.

it has been years since i first heard that song, but it still affects me the same way each time i hear it. chills, everytime.

by the way, thank you for introducing all of these kids to new music. there's so much crap out there right now and it always makes me smile that you're using your "celebrity status" & this blog to introduce kids to music they otherwise would never listen to.

Following along my earlier comment to this particular blog (about Trowa reminding me of you), I noticed that your hair is very anime-ish. I like drawing. I like anime. I like hair. I thought to myself, "Why not try to draw Jade and his awesome hair?!"

Apparently I need to stick with drawing anime/manga, as I have no talent for drawing real people. The above link can attest to that... ::cries:: It looks nothing like you at all. The hair is still fun, however...
