By the way, I tried to find some application on blogspot where I could answer questions or respond to comments but apparently they don't have one. Trying to do it in the actual comment section of the post might get too messy because you wouldn't be able to tell who I'm responding to. Any ideas?

Sorry about the last 2 posts.. I messed up.. ><..BLAH.
I think I've seen a Question & Answer script things for HTML/Java Script homepages..
..Or you can do what Hunter did on his Myspace: Having people leaving comments, then reply to them..? Maybe that'll work?
...My internet's really messed up..Can't load BA's Myspace =(

I have really been wondering that myself. I just go back to a person's profile and comment back on one of their blogs to respond. Usually they know what I am talking about, but its really not that efficient...

"The Ligature" is beautiful by the way, Jade. A new favorite for me <3

Annabel said...

You could copy the person's username and reply on the comment page, although that could take a while.
Anyways, "The Ligature" is a beautiful song, just for you to know.

harley said...

a myspace for the fans?....seems kind of pointless just for that when you have this already but its an idea...

She Sees Light said...

*shivers in amazement at the thought of you answering comments*

Eeeehhh, you could mention the person's screen name when you reply? You could.... do.... something... else? I know, srsly, I am the master of amazing ideas.

Blaqk Elektrik said...

I agree, commenting on our blogs might work the best.

She Sees Light said...

AND THE LIGATURE COMPLETELY COMPLETED AN AMAZING DAY. So thank you, just thought I had to say it.

Marina said...

You could always show up in our rooms and play a couple of songs or show us your best impressions of Star Wars characters. Instant feedback, man. It's the way of the new century. Or you could post a separate entry with your replies to select comments. Then again, that would get really time consuming and bulky, much like this comment.

Miraenda said...

I think simply copying the username and quoting whatever was said (by copying and pasting it) with > or ". Now, I look like I was being mean when I replied about how we shouldn't complain you aren't commenting when it was suggested by someone else :P

Thanks for the "Ligature" track on MySpace

Buuni said...

I agree with what the other suggestions made here. I'd say try both, and figure out which is the least time consuming.

The Ligature, is amazing btw. Very trip-hop-ish feel.

I'm just wondering, though, what type of ligature is it?

LIVEJOURNAL!

Livejournal > Blogger. You can't only reply to comments, but it also notifies you of every comment you receive and you can track responses.

AnDeinerSeite said...

well, at the beginning of the comment, just have the person's name :P

<3 happy you're updating again

This Girl said...

Just go to the persons page.
Much easier. Or if you prefer to have your answers be out in the public....get an HTML for a tagboard or something and put that into your template. Maybe that could work.

Endlessly Immortal said...

Yeah basically what everyone else said..just make a blog telling people to ask whatever questions then take a few or whatever, make another blog and respond to those people.something along those lines..Thats the only thing I can think of.

Lexcide said...

You're sweet.

As others have said, you could state the person's username.
Or, visit their blog.
But that might be pushing it.

Thanks for being so gracious and considerate of us.

BlackxInkxHeart said...

these chicks want to talk to you, Jade. they don't care if it's messy. haha

Ditto on livejournal! plus you can friend people and some of the communities there are awesome.

HAZEL!theROCK. :D said...

Hm.
1. Reply the comment by having the person's name before the reply.
2. Comment on our blogs :D
3. There's this thing called a C-Box that my friends and I use, but you still have to state the person's name first...but it's not very advisable because it can get flooded really easily.
4. Find something like the comment system on YouTube that shows replies below the comments... But I have no idea how to find them.

That's all I have. (:

(\ /)
(. .)
( )o

Lol. Did that out of boredom.

hiimniko said...

Is it Buzznet that you can comment back on the post?

I would find it difficult to comment everyone with questions back. They must've made a feature for that.

Well, maybe copy the questions into a new post perhaps?

Well, The Ligature is an excellent [enter better word for rave] song.
And whoever mention the EP, I am sure we would all gladly love to have an update :)

niko.

shanagdi said...

I think other people's recommendations are best.

1. Copying the username and possibly quoting them is one alternative.

2. The other is commenting on that person's blog, but you still might need to quote whatever it is you are referencing. I get an email whenever someone comments on one of my blogs.

You could also make a recommendation to blogspot personnel about this issue and see if something can be done to change it.

HRmmmm Sounds Complicated...I like that New song! its quite fantastic!

I don't think there is anything around it unless you want to harass the blogger people? Or just leave comments on other peoples blogs..?

People have really good ideas...
Oh YAH! And facebook is fun, but its annoying with applications, I think you have to try it to find out if you LIKE IT!

AFIForever21 said...

I have an idea, love. You can go onto their page (the person who asked you a question) and have them have a blog titled "Jade" and that is where you can put the asnwers to their questions.

You could always like leave a comment on one of their previous blog entries? I don't know if you can get ppl's emails from here or not. Your amazing technotastic abilities have proven you're far better with computers than I. The "Jade" blog entry was good too. Idea from afiforever21

idk if commenting back to people
would be a smart idea
what if they tell there friends
that they actually "talked"
to you.
then there friends will get a blogger.
then youll have to comment them too.
it might just end up being a hasel.

but i do agree with Annabel
ya know most of the time everyone ends up agreeing with each other.
or thinking about the same thing.

State the usernames in the comment section? And if they're anonymous like me :), then say "Dear anonymous who asked about blah blah".

Best I could think of :(

Don't leave Blogspot for MySpace or Facebook. Trolls who don't even like AFI will invade the comments and piss people off and MySpace blog comments are all messy. THe only other good blog site besides here is Xanga and they have a good, non-messy comment system.

If you stay here, yeah...just state the username.

as many already said, i think it's better if the person who asked you the question have a blog "Jade" and just respond to their question by commenting his/her blog made for you.

Since I don't know anything about blogspot I can't make any suggestions concerning it.

I do, however, use livejournal regulary, so I'd vote trying it maybe?

And I definitely would not vote for a fan myspace. Myspace is a mess. Full of too much spam and ridiculous people.

Ashleigh said...

I don't know how blogspot works, but if it's possible to edit posts, you could edit in commentaries. In other words: post, wait for comments. When you find comments to respond to, edit the original post. Put in a break line (a line of dashes is probably best), then respond to said comments.

Alternatively, do what those of us who don't have a blogspot do: leave comments by signing in with something else. For example, I'm using my gmail. Create an email (or use one you already have - it doesn't reveal them, as far as I can see) and, er...comment in the comments. You'd just have to post to let us all know who is you.

Haha, Google it.

Make an entry regarding everyone who responded (username-wise), and don't leave anyone out because there'll be an article about how much you hate your fans in Revolver or something.

That, or go to our journals and leave us something. The downfall of this being I don't check my journal because the only entry I've got is yelling about having a new account (false advertising).

I'd say an entry with responses to what we say is the best bet-- once a month or something. Or risk a dramatic life and create a Live Journal.

(The new song is better than the old ones, especially since I don't know the words)

camilla said...

I would definitely say get a Livejournal, but otherwise... Commenting with the person's name is probably the best? Though that would end up with a million comments all the time, especially if people knew you'd reply to them.

<3

stella said...

Commenting on people's blogs won't work if their blogs are private, if they only have an account set up to comment here and don't have a blog. It seems rather unproductive because they probably won't know that Jade has responded to a comment/question on their blog (especially if it's an old blog they haven't checked in a while) unless they have it set up so that they are e-mailed when they get a comment on a blog. I certainly don't look at my blogger account anymore. It doesn't allow for easy commenting back and forth, for responses from other people as well, or for simple notifications of responses (like LiveJournal's features... sorry, you can tell I'm really pushing LJ here).

Dancealways said...

I think the no muss no fuss way is really to just cut and paste peoples' words, write the response and put that up in a new blog post of yours. Commenting back to other peoples' blogs could kind of get out of hand I'd think.

said...

You could reply on your comments, and just put the question or comment you're replying to in quotes. :)

Miraenda said...

Oh here's another thought: You could just go the mysterious route and leave a comment without referencing who you are replying to at all. This would then allow many people to think they are getting the response from you haha (easiest way to do it too--no copy and paste, no switching to livejournal, no commenting on user blogs, no creating a blog post just with responses...)

Nello said...

LiveJournal is definitely the way to go! It's a thousand times cooler and handier.

Addie said...

I think the idea of copying and pasting the original post/username, putting it in quotes and then replying underneath it could work. Maybe post your comments in bold or something. It would be confusing having it in the actual comment section, though, like you said. Hm.

I would be for the replying in someone's blog idea, but like Stella said not all of us have blogs or check them. I suppose we could all rise up to the occasion and start looking at our blogs, though, haha.

The Ligature rules hard, by the way.

Karlye said...

I agree with Stella and Hilary, getting a Livejournal might be better to respond to comments and such, but then again it might be a hassle to switch over. Or you could comment people back on THEIR blogs, but that also might get a little messy.

Livejournal is CLEARLY the way to go.

1. Sending comments to other peoples' bloggers has the potential to start a dramarama. ha. Not to mention there's a lot of people that don't know how in the hell to work blogger (ie: me).

2. With livejournal you have more freedom to customize your layout. Lord knows blogger has shit options.

3. Livejournal lets you reply to comments on your blogs.

4. Livejournal is easier to navigate.

And I understand that you might not want to get a completely different blog, but I believe it to be the best choice.

Not saying I wouldn't like an occasional comment from you though. :p It would be great to come on here, post a comment, and then later notice that you replied to my comment by telling me what a dork I am.

To change pace, I pondered the flea vs. human body question for quite some time. I concluded that I'd rather eat fleas. Granted, to have enough energy for the day it would have to be a substantial amount of fleas, but it beats chewing into someone I used to know. You know, ethics/morals/deviance, all that jazz.

Great question though.

devin said...

the only answer i have is switching to another site like livejournal. you can make actual threads from just one comment. livejournal is really customizable, too, so that's a plus. it's free for a regular or plus account (has ads), and you can upload 6 pics on the regular account. there's also a user lookup and you can see the communities you've joined.

hmm. i sound like i work for livejournal... but that's just a thought. maybe you can find something with blogger. i'm not sure how customizable it is, and how it handles additional codes. good luck though! :]

since I failed to post last time, here I go today.
Posting back to our blogs = a very naive idea
What can be done, is you can moderate your comments, meaning you decide whether you want them published or not and after you published one comment, you can reply to it and then publish the next one...takes ages though.
Easier would be a blog at MySpace where you can reply to comment and your reply would appear after the comment you're replying to...

another idea is a topic at the DF board, though I'm never on there, but it's not like I have any questions I'm desperate to get an answer...anyways, on the DF board you could quote and answer. but if I'm not mistaken there is an "ask afi" forum already, but that's for DFers only, isn't it?

Buzz Royale said...

oh, and I for myself think that Livejournal is really confusing if you're used to MySpace and/or Blogger...

Uhh.. I see what you mean about the comment thing. I don't know anything about blogspot though.

Can you leave comments on other people's profiles? That might work, I'm sure the person who remember what it was they asked. Or just e-mail, although that wouldn't be public.

Hmm. Ha, that wasn't very helpful, sorry!

Yeah, I totally wish you didn't have to comment back on other people's blogs because that's like the biggest hassle ever & that's like four more links I have to click... but I'm afraid that's the only way.

1. Open a new window/tab for your browser.
2. Copy & Paste the question.
3. Answer the question.
4. Post ze bloggie!

Replying to individual answers by going to each person's blog or copying and pasting everyone's usernames could get a bit tedious. Also, some questions could be repeated.. Everyone would experience immense euphoria if you were to talk to them individually, but there are a hundreds of comments and I would imagine Jadee does not have *that* much time.

ThatOneGirl said...

I think that the people on here who think it's not a great idea to comment back to us seems kinda lame.

To say that we're gonna flip out and make a big deal about how you directly said something about a comment we made also seems that some of these peeps are thinking less of others.
-
Maybe I myself am lame for saying it, but Jade is a human too, like the rest of us, though he may have less time on his hands than some of us do, we can't set him on a pedestal.

The fact that he's actually trying to find something to communicate with us even more shows that he's not some egotistic rockstar.

I'd personally recommend Xanga. You can do a lot with the layouts, customise the colours on everything, as well as add pictures for the backgrounds. It's also possible to completely move the whole page around, putting the blog in one spot, polls or other things in other spots. I find it very user-friendly, not to mention fun.

On another note, there's a comic that features you and Davey as women on deviantART. Thought you might find it amusing:

s.m.o'shea said...

Don't feel pressured into answering every single comment. If you do feel like responding, however, it may be neatest simply to make another blog post where you discuss either an issue/statement common to a large percentage of the comments on a given post, or to a few particularly interesting individual ones. That way it saves you some stress and lets you only respond when you really feel like you have something to say, and not simply out of obligation.

If you do want to respond to every single comment, it may be easiest to do it in the 'comments' section by quoting or naming the commenter.

Cheers!

How exactly is Jade "giving up all of his freetime"...?

He didn't sign a contract saying he'd for sure comment everyone everyday. Hell, he didn't even say he was for sure responding to our comments.

Hah, for real.

Anyway, in light of the debate, Addie and I were feeling a bit political...

The masses being Jade, I suppose, since it's his decision. Hah

Have two windows open- one where you're typing your blog and one showing people's questions in your comments. That way you can just type their username and an answer?

I'm old school like this. Not really up with the new technology and stuff. God knows what a script is. But hey, if it ain't broken, don't fix it right?

Sarizzle said...

Break out your camera and record video responses. That's the most efficient way, by far. ;) Alternatively you could call us up and leave messages on our voicemail. Long distance bills aren't an issue, are they?

No, but seriously, I haven't a clue. What a terrible person I am, leading you to believe I have a legitimate answer, and then turning around and totally wasting your time..

Hello. This post is likeable, and your blog is very interesting, congratulations :-). I will add in my blogroll =). If possible gives a last there on my site, it is about the CresceNet, I hope you enjoy. The address is http://www.provedorcrescenet.com . A hug.

I say you just acquire livejournal.

I'm gonna have to go with LiveJournal, as well. It really is the best choice for freedom with replying to comments and whatnot. Becomes rather addictive after awhile, actually.

My two ideas have already been stated.
1. Go to their blog (it could take a while, though)
2. copy paste their names.

You've probably thought of those anywho.

As you were talking about in a previous blog, you know that feelign when you find an aaaaamazing song? Well, I have had that feeling about a short piece of literature I stumbled across. I'll like it to you, but you don't have to look at it.

And, let me say, you are one of the most amazing people with synth, it's not easy (I've used my friends programs before) but you pull it off spectacularly.

I actually agree with that one... There's no way you could comment back on each individual blog... Skimming through the comments and answering some questions on video would probably be less time consuming. But maybe that's just me being lazy for you. O_o

glitterkitten said...

I have no idea sorry Jade. Blogspot is a bit too simple for me. =[

But it's very exciting knowing that you might answer comments. XD

Kayli Puget said...

Ooh, groundbreaking idea!
I think we should all (yes, everyone on this page) have a go at the Blogspot people and say "How the hell are we meant to make friend yo?" or words to that effect and try to make them create a messaging service. Also try casual name-dropping "Pff, LIVEJOURNAL has messaging services!!"

Far-fetched, I know.
That's the best thing I can think of!!
Jade, you've created an uproar with this.

xx

I always get really happy when you've written something, just kinda wanted you to know that.

Don't really know how to solve your problem though, but I hope you'll figure it out, we all want some answers,

is it right to be irritated that someone missed my point when i quoted milne, and retorted with churchill?
you're a smart boy. i hope you got what i implied.

and on a side note: does it bother you that so many girls sign up to things stealing your surname? "so and so" puget, when you know damn well it's not their last name. does it creep you out or do you find it endearing?

just find the most commonly asked questions or most... important? just answer them in your next post. on livejournal you can reply to comments. its dumb that you cant do that here.

I would post a comment here and do this:
@ person #1 - blabla answer to first question
@ person #2 - blablubb answer to second question
and so on...

But then again...I'm not very computer-savvy these days. I used to be but got lost on the way. There's probably a really clever way to do it.

Ooooorrrr...you sign up on Livejournal and continue your blog there. ;)

LiveJournal is yucky, ducky.

Too many people roleplay on

'Tis scary to see seven "Jade"s commenting on Jade.

Hey now, let's be fair. There are many boys guilty of the same crime. ;) Jade's such a lovable dude, that's why.

don't listen to them when they say go to live journal.

if you went to live journal, everyone would be like 'zomgahjadepuget' and you wouldn't have time to reply to like, anyone.

this site is soooooo much better.

You should get a chat box. Then you could talk to anybody who is viewing your blog when you are on.

That'd be rad.

missxafixlover said...

i have an idea u could just list the name of the person who asked u the question and just put their name for example just put missxafixlover or n/e one else who asked and awnser. Problem solved but u should do it in blog form.

Anonymous said...

Like most people said, I think you should just go with the comments section and copy their username/quote them. That would have to be the easiest route.

So, this is my first time commenting, and I just thought hat I'd let you know that I think you are terrific, as well as supahh fly.

Blogger does have add-ons [although sometimes you have to get them from other sites].

I honestly believe you should put a chat box on your profile. It would should up in your layout and you can move it or whatever.

Jade, I agree with everyone who said you should switch to Livejournal :). It's absolutely the best blogging site on the whole internet, and it lets you reply to individual comments. Even Mikey Rhino used one for a bit

This may sound old fashioned but you could just leave a comment and say who you are replying to, it's not very swish but it should work.

JADE! I KNOW. I HAVE THE BESTEST IDEA EVER. Well, it's not that good, but WHEN U REPLY, why dont u... do it on the COMMENTING PAGE, but then, then then then then then, you put the persons name FIRST. Like....... X.x H A V O K x.X - and then your message. howzat!

Kids are right - Livejournal is your answer...

Sorry but technically you need to access your "commentateurs" to edit their notes...The way blogger has been design doesn't allow you to do this...

So yep I have nothing this time to bust your ifriend computer in flames ^^

Ligature sounds a bit Mr Hahn

Anyway let me bust you ears into flames:

This has probably allready been said but, I was thinking maybe you could just make a post every few weeks just for the purpose of us asking you questions and you could make another post replying to so many? Well I don't know. that'd take a while too....

I dont suggest moving to livejournal, though. That's a place for meanies. You'd just get a buncha crap from people.

Amarantos Everlasting said...

Well, I believe I'm late responding to this (as always) but I hope you read anyways...you could respond to people by leaving a comment on their blogs...'cause I think they gotta have a blog in order to comment on your's...so you go to their blog and comment on their last post and specify that you're answering whatever comment they left on your blog. There you go.

MGE said...

hah . i'm quite surprised that you people dont actually use custom-made blogskins or even have tagboard / cbox . custom made blogskin are like way better than the ones they give you on blogger . u ppl know what they are ryte ?or am i speaking an alien language ? lmao .

ok how about you do a post that says questions and then have everyone ask a question and then have a post that says answers and answer everyones questions in the order that they were asked and then that way people wont mess it up
