While the picture of the girl in the foreground is amazing, there's only one thing you should be focusing on.

Basement Horse.

You can't see it but he's obviously shredding a saxophone solo right there.

p.s. yes I know I posted crude pencil drawing of a horse playing a saxophone before but that was before the existence of Basement Horse became known

"Basement horse"...Sounds like a jazz band...Of horse, I mean of course the horse is shredding that sweet solo, too bad the picture hasn't got a tone, too bad...I couldn't focus on disabled chick who's "in it for the parking", in the first place, those things just don't get my attention...Oh, well...And Jade, I thought you're gonna update us on things happening IN THE STUDIO, Jaaaaade, STUD-IO! Ya kno' that place where the albums are recorded & such...Ah, who the hell am I talking to?! Forget it, man, forget it all...

That's the most amazing thing I've ever seen. Ever.

That gir;'s shirt was cute. It took me a second to read it but it was neat.

KirstenKarnival said...

I have a habit of reading blogs and their comments a whole lot, and I have to say: You sure know how to ask the questions that get people talking.

With this post, I'm really enjoying the Sax-tastic Horse. I'm not sure if I ought to be mildly confused or rather inspired by Mini-skirt-girl-in-pink. Random photo or someone you know?

Thanks for an interesting read!

Gillian said...

this picture honestly made my day. btw, you should totally give Munch a blog. you know it'd probably be one of the most popular things on the internet!

Anonymous said...

So random, Jade. Basement Horse. Just what I needed today. I just read your p.s. -so funny! I could really hear you saying that too... Oh, and I think you've got saxophone envy.
-<3 Sarah

p.s. I know you love to connect with your fans but I don't want you to feel any pressure to keep blogging just beacuse we comment on how much we love your posts. I know you're very busy and your fanbase is growing. If it gets to the point where you just don't have time, trust that many of us will understand. <3 Oh, and let's make it official- I am a fan for life.

I'm more impressed that the horse is owning with his ... elbows? I guess you would call them.
He clearly has some crazy skills if he uses his elbows rather than his hoofs. And its a fairly good pencil drawing. =]

So... Out of curiosity.. Would you hate me if I made a few afi teeshirts for my portfolio class? I doubt you are going to respond to this but maybe perhaps you see this and get some sort of heads up.. I have to have a "concentration" for the class.. And I recently got a new screen printing screen and decided it would be easy to make some shirts.. But they have to relate.. So I was going to do my favorite lyrics.. And perhaps do a few afi ones.....

Sorry for the rant...

I could send them to you guys after I'm done.. But idk if you'd want to wear some afi shirts? I was thinking of doing some cure ones too. and the clash. Idk.. Musical staples on my itunes I guess.

lorral said...

LOL and is there a Ceiling Horse also?

MJ said...

Aw.. That girl lost half her leg. And she's so pretty! I don't think that's what I'm supposed to be looking at though.

... OH THERE'S A HORSE OVER THERE. Is is a see-saw horse? What? It's like, climbing out of the ground. OH! That's a basement? Basement Horse? I think I get it now. I don't know. Knowing me, I probably missed the entire point and you're laughing at me. Oh, well.

MJ said...

OH, I SEE IT NOW. So the horse doesn't have a mohawk. Damn.

I'm so blind.

Stryker said...

...ok.
oh and dude, the penguins totally freak me out, switch back to the spider!

Ok I generally find online pictures/videos/etc totally unfunny and somewhat annoying, but this basement horse thing seriously has me laughing my ass off

Hope the album's going well, I was disappointed to learn of the producer switch (bottril's done many of my favorites), but nonetheless I hope all is well

Dretta said...

WTF? That is so very strange. I wonder why they decided to keep their horse underground...I guess the world may never know.

Silly Girls Win said...

Basement Horse is totally hot, Jade.

And about the guy who broke up with me, you probably don't even remember I told you, lol, (Yes I'm still depressed about it.) he's a total jerk. He was really mean to me when he broke up with me and then he totally cussed out one of my best friends and then he blamed it all on the fact that he has diabetes. But he said he didn't want to be treated differently because of it. Obviously, he wants to. Jerk.

Anna said...

Is Basement Horse any relation to the famous Ceiling Cat?

Also, that girl's t-shirt is awesome.

Horse playing sax = LOL in a good way!
Regarding "aaa-ooo-gaa": is that an Alaskan Klee Kai? We just added a "miniature" AKK puppy to our family Jan. 31st =) He's sooo adorable - would make a great playtime pal for Munch!

Kayla said...

Oh you basement horse!
<3

This oddly enough reminds me of something totally odd and out of place.
My sister, I showed her a picture of you and your name, thinks you are a French man. Therefore, she thinks your last name is pronounced Pew-YAY. Excuse my terrible pronounciation technique. Think of it like 'Peww' and then 'yay'. Besides the point, is there any time that you have, in fact, been called this? Out of curiousity.

Anonymous said...

Jade,
I am currently painting a picture of you in my art class and have been spending a whole lot of time on it! I've started your arm and then realized I couldn't find anywhere what tattoos you have on your right arm.
If you don't mind me asking, what tattoos do you have? It would be very much appreciated.

Much love to you, Hunter, Adam & Davey <3
-Michaela

P.S. What is with you, Hunter and horses? xD

I've seen that girl at a Cleveland Agora show, so do you know her or did she just send you a random photo? And come to think of it I've seen that horse shredding a solo before too! Ok, Deja vu, maybe I need to get out of the basement......

Anonymous said...

HAHA! I'm gonna have nightmares now...
Basement Horse- seems innocent and talented enough, but when you least expect it...it sneaks up behind and ravages everything in sight that is PINK.

:O
Run, preps, RUUUN! XD

But Jade, that is very, very clever. Thank you for your adorable randomness. ^.^

Payaso said...

basement horse is nothing, you should see basement zebra...

Sofia said...

Ahahaha Basement Horse! The sax shredding minion of Basement Cat... Or not.

I'll have you know that, amongst all the very random stuff drawn on the whiteboard in the studio I share with a couple of other girls, there's a small horse, sitting on a ledge, playing sax. We call him the Jazzheest (misspelled version of jazzhäst - jazz horse). :D

AidenXXtheUSED27XAFI said...

No way.
I saw that chick before;

She was in front, I believe front, for Mindless Self Indulgence in Cleveland, Ohio; at the Agora- April 29, 2008.

She got in before everyone, since she's handycapt;
and we were the first in line, and my cousin thought her like, pink legs things were like the coolest thing ever.

That's cool.
My cousin will be entertaned if I sent this to her.

This made me day.

I am the girl in that photo up there. All I've been getting are messages on myspace with links to various sites this photo is on.

To those who can't tell the obvious, its a photoshop. I don't own a horse that is kept in my ground.

Reading the comments on this, yes I go the Agora for concerts and was MOST def let in early at MSI so I didn't get trampled by the crowd rushing to the front.

What most people don’t realize is that “Basement Horse” is really the result of a government-funded human cloning experiment gone horribly arry. His name is Johnny, though his friends call him Ed. He’s on the run from a top-secret agency who has been trailing him since he escaped from the lab. Luckily he hides pretty well in plain site; for a horse anyway.
