I'm sitting amidst guitars, caressing vinyl, and talking Jawbreaker in the current AP

Just got back from New York. Stayed on the Lower East Side, ate great meals, and mugged people in the subway.

If you're a fan of words:

I don't think I've ever recommended a fantasy epic, so here you go. This series is so good it had me running frantically around Berlin on tour, trying to find an English language version of the next book.

This one is stellar, creepy, strange, and eruditely complex, especially if you're a fan of my oft-recommended "The House of Leaves".

Since we're still in the middle of mixing, I can't put up any music yet, but here's some footage of me tracking a song in the studio, sans audio. If you're a guitar player, maybe you can figure out the song.

video

Or you can just dub in your own audio, like this genius piece of amazing.

Here's mine

video

or....

video

This one's probably going to be the theme for the next Twilight movie.

I read A Game of Thrones for the first time a few months ago, and thought it was amazing. I haven't had a chance to read the second book yet - is it as good as the first one? :)

House of Leaves was amazing. I'll have to check out these books. I need something to read this summer. I'm totally going to analyze that clip tomorrow. Maybe I'll make a powertab of it and post it somewhere, haha. Or not, I don't know. I need to study for finals, damn it.

Kayleigh Control said...

Caressing you say? I like the sound of that ;D

Awww, the pictures in this entry had me running around Berlin on.. Wait a second, that was a lie. I just squealed a bit and then gawped with my mouth hanging open. I stopped when a fly nearly choked me to death :)

It was nice to see quite a big blog from you, Jade. You should do that more often -- it's thrilling, you see.

But you're getting too skinny boy >:( Get some meat on ya, or I'll have to personally come over there with a massive skip and tip loads of candy on you.

Maybe you'd like that though..

I'm going to stop talking now.
Lurrrve as ever. x

Thankies, Jade. :) Post new music when you can.

If you have, then great decision.

The guitar videos. They absolutely made my day! Glad you enjoyed mugging people in NYC, that's always a top attraction when you're there. And thank you for the great AP article. Also adorable pictures. And book recommendations. You gave us a lot on this post!

Wow that's a lot of information, thrown at me at such a fast speed and velocity that there is no way I could comment on every part of it.

However I am rather jealous of you just coming back from the NYC, I haven't been there in 2 years. It is such an awesome city.

And I'm liking the sound of those guitar rifts Mr. Puget, this album is obviously going to be pretty epic. :D

Getting pretty excited for the new album. I wonder why mixing in particular takes so long? Hmm. To the Google-van!

LOL. I am a vampirrrrrre, I am a vampirrrrrre, I have lost my fangs. I am a vampirrrre. You know it's your fault if I get that stuck in my head. Which I think I have so I blame you.

I still haven't read the House of Leaves yet. I really want to. I just haven't gotten around to it. We should trade recommendations. I recommend The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson. It's really intriguing and you'll really enjoy it if you like listening to cynics, because that's what the main character is. It really doesn't have much to do with gargoyles. Well, in a way it does, but not at all. Just read the book. You will not be disappointed.

Anyway, I really want to go to New York City. I am jealous of you, good man. You have a beautiful girlfriend and astounding hair. Astounding hair is the most important. Am I right?

I was in New York last month...

I stepped in this turbo-gum and instead of it just sticking to the bottom of my shoe, the bottom of my shoe stuck to it.

Basically, I have a ballet flat that allows whoever wears it to feel the floor.

I dubbed in Color Me Badd's "I Wanna Sex You Up"

That last song made me insanely happy. Hahah. I'd known it before the Twilight movie (it was on the Juno soundtrack) and I think if they put it in the movie it might have made the movie worth paying $7, staying up till midnight for the viewing and going to school the next day after two hours of sleep. =]

Jawbreaker were indeed an amazing band; they were and are the soundtrack of my middle/high school years.

I'm pretty suckish at guitar so I had no idea what you just did.

If you're into Hockey, please tell me you're a Red Wings fan? I just got into watching the games and I'm sitting here screaming(trying not to kill the laptop) at Kunitz. He's kicking the crap out of our God-Goalie. I'm about to book it to the Joe Louis arena to stab him with his own skates. (don't blame me on the violence, blame Hockey.)

Eheh...Kinda hyper so..eh XP The pic at the top of the post is adorable actually. You're making an awesome chibi face :3

Those books look interesting and I need something good to read so I'll go by Rainbow Books/Unicorn Bookstore to see if they're there(I don't remember the name but it's by a nail salon haha) The place is pretty cool, some old lady is selling like 100s of books that she owned before.

I have a question about tour. I went on the official site and you guys are going to Toronto for Edgefest right? Is that like a big tour kick-off? (A few questions hehe) If it is a kickoff, go to Detroit first. (Just not on July third, Kari is taking me to a No Doubt/Paramore concert :D) We(me, possibly brothers and crazy friends) wanna come see you guys for the first time. It'd make my life <3

I dont think I failed this year of school!!! Im amazing!!! =D

Game of Thrones and Raw Shark Texts are both great books - as is House of Leaves! The end of Raw Shark completely reminded me of the movie 'Jaws' though.
I heard HBO is in the process of making Game of Thrones into a TV series, which could be good if done right.

well anyway hooray the album is being mixed, no one's sick(that i know of), and everything is hunkey dorey. right?

Ha, your last line made me crack up.

But yes, I remeber internet in the 90's. I had to fight with my sisters and yell at them to get off the phone so I could get on the internet.

Chat rooms were the shit, but now they're just for creepy old men lookin' to get outed by Chris Hanson from dateline NBC.

Ya, Flo Rida can suck it. Have you seen the video for Hillary Duff's 'cover'? If you haven't, good, you don't want to.

The thing I remember most about internet in the 90's is typing housewives into Google and getting linked to a bunch of porn sites. In school. School filtering systems have gotten better i'll say.

It's a sad millenium for teenage boys everywhere. Good thing boys don't cry ;)
