John Lennon died 29 years ago today.

p.s. no, he didn't co-write Breaking the Habit.

His killer is in Attica State Prison which is about a mile from my house. It creeps me out a lot.

That's very sweet of you to blog about Mr. Lennon, however, he passed on the 8th. Nonetheless, still a tragedy.

Gosh no comments yet!? .. or just not posted yet? Can't begin to describe the cosmic impact of this music. I was 12 in 1963 and 18 for release of 'Let It Be' .. what a wonderful time to be alive.

A dark day it was indeed, but wasn't it Dec 8? I don't think anything was ever the same after that... I'm guessing Across the Universe is your favourite Lennon-penned song? I certainly cannot disagree with you. Its absolutely amazing!

John Lennon was one deep Lyricist.

You should check out the VH1 movie Two of Us a fictitious account what happen tween McCartney/Lennon six years after the break-up of The Beatles when a comedian on SNL comment he would pay The Beatles $3000 if they would perform on his program together.
Then it goes on to show McCartney making a surprise visit to Lennon apartment and the movie just threw up so many "what ifs" around like the reason the Beatles breakup Lennon marriage to Ono. I thought the movie was pretti dam good. But then again I also loved the movie “Men Who Stared At Goats” too hahahaha

The Beatles were a big part of my youth. John's music was so beautiful; his murder ended what I think was the most creative time of his life. So sad. Snaps on the song choice, it's one of my favorites.

I was born after John Lennon left the earth, but still grew up knowing his name and music at such a young age. I imagine it will be the same for many of those being born now.
