Davey is going to be taking over for Billie Joe in the American Idiot play for the first 2 weeks of March. Singing on Broadway is a dream come true for him, it's very cool.

I am so happy for Davey! I've seen the play twice, and think that Davey will do an excellent job as St. Jimmy. He can bring the attitude, but add his own flare to it. He'll certainly appreciate the sparkles involved in the role, haha! Stupid for me to ask a question, but are you going to be in NYC to see him?

Thanks for the post. I'm hoping any close-minded Green Day fan will at least try to be happy that someone is having a dream of theirs fulfilled.

That's awesome! I bet he's really excited to have the chance to do this. I wish I could make the trip up to NY for it but I'm already going next week to see Billie while he's on his run for the show. I guess the YouTube videos that will pop up will have to suffice.

Being a New Yorker is a plus, especially in times like these :D

Mr. Puget, that's amazing!! Mr. Havok must be estatic! Are you, Mr. Burgan, and Mr. Carson going to see him? I bet he's going to be amazing.
I wish I could go, but Broadway's a little too far from 13.
Tell him "Merde" for me, please?

I'm flying over from Denmark to see the show a couple of times. I can't wait to see him take over Broadway.
It's such a perfect role for him too.

I saw Davey perform at his last show. Waited with two other girls. The second one left just before midnight. Davey walked by on the street 10 minutes later. If you could/would, PLEASE send the following letter to him. I forgot to give it to him, and I don't know how to contact him. It would mean a lot to me, even if he probably won't read it. Here's the letter:
Dear Sir,
I just wanted to congratulate you on making it to Broadway and living your dream. I am immensely happy for you. Your success is an inspiration to me as a fellow musician. People like you are what encourage me to pursue my own dreams and go into music myself; and I thank you for that. Through you, I was also introduced to straight edge, which I am now a part of. AFI and the Despair Faction are both hugely important in my life, keeping me sane, expressing my emotions, and giving me friends in a cold world. You and your music are a great influence on all your fans, expressing and understanding things that words cannot describe. The Despair Faction has formed because you and AFI are so meaningful. The fire of your heart is a great beacon to the world. Thank you.
With utter respect,
Grace (xIdhrenielx on the DF boards)
